Three suspects in the shooting death of a Tallulah teen have been arrested.

Brandon Holmes and Mario Oliver, both 27, and Shawn Allen, 24, all of Tallulah, were found Tuesday night in Killen, Texas, at a friend’s house, said Tallulah Assistant Police Chief Willie Turner. They are accused in the death of John Hughes, 16, who was shot around 4 a.m. Sunday in front of Madison Community Apartments on Tank Street.

“Anonymous tips” led to the arrests, said Turner.

Officials have said the men had argued, possibly over a woman. Hughes was shot twice — once in the leg and once in the chest, Turner said. “The shot to the chest was the fatal shot,” he said.

Madison Parish Coroner Dr. Thomas Neumann has been out of town this week and could not be reached for further details on the cause of death.

Holmes, Oliver and Allen are being held in Killen, facing extradition by Tallulah police.

“We won’t know what they’re charged with until they’re picked up,” Turner said.

Hughes lived with his father, John Carroll, on Florida Street in Tallulah, said Turner.

His funeral is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Baptist Church with burial, directed by Beckwith Golden Gate Funeral Home, to follow at New Oak Wood Cemetery. Both are in Tallulah.

Two in Warren jail on probation violations

A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail this morning, accused of probation violation, jail records said.

Joseph Dickinson, 19, 110 McKenzie Drive, was arrested at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday. He was being held without bond for the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Separately, a Jackson man was also in the Warren County Jail this morning, being held without bond on a probation violation.

Oscar Williams, 40, 795 N. Siwell Road, was arrested at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday.

Prescription, vehicle among missing things

Three auto burglaries were reported in the city and county.

• The prescription drug Predizone and money were reported missing at 5:24 p.m. Monday from a 2006 Ford F-250 in the 1600 block of Chambers Street.

• A skill saw, unknown brand, a steering wheel and the vehicle’s title were reported missing at 5:19 p.m. Tuesday from a 1990 Chevy Silverado in the 200 block of Price Street.

• A pair of prescription sunglasses valued at $300, an iPod Nano valued at $250, an XM radio system valued at $150, a pair of binoculars valued at $100 and a leather map case valued at $50 were reported missing at 11:23 a.m. Tuesday from a 2006 Ford F-150 in the 100 block of Fairways Place.

Separately, an auto theft was reported at 3:24 p.m. Tuesday. A 2005 Pontiac Grand Am, Mississippi tag No. HQD 968, that had been parked on the westbound shoulder of Interstate 20, near Bovina, was missing.
