John Lewis Pepper Jr.

ONWARD — John Lewis Pepper Jr. died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, at his home. He was 68.

Mr. Pepper was a graduate of Mississippi State University. He was employed at the Delta Implement Company in Rolling Fork and Scott Tractor in Tallulah and was retired from Magnolia Lawn and Tractor. He was a member of Valley Park Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school and was a deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. Pepper Sr. and Thelma Scarborough Pepper; and a brother, Phillip Pepper.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Sue Pepper of Rolling Fork; three sons, Chris Pepper of Clarksville, Tenn., Mike Pepper of Ocean Springs and John “Jay” Pepper of Rolling Fork; one brother, Sam Pepper of Vaughn; one sister, Ann Berryhill of Franklin Tenn.; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Valley Park Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Purser officiating. Burial, directed by Glenwood Funeral Home, will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the church, from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the service.

Pallbearers will be Hank Moore, Robbie Braxton, Richard Bisso, Ronnie Heath, Mike Heath and Charles Kerr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Porter, Bobby Braxton, Larry Whitten and Bobby Ray.
