John and Sherrie Shelton of Ridgeland announce the engagement of their daughter, Kali Paige, to George Benjamin Shelton. Mr. Shelton is the son of Randy and Alice Shelton of Camden.

Miss Shelton is the granddaughter of the late Thomas Shelton and the late Helen Shelton of Vicksburg and Clif and Dr. Charlotte Mansfield of Southaven.

Mr. Shelton is the grandson of the late George Shelton and the late Martha Shelton of Forest Hill and the late Jack Cauthen and Mary D. Cauthen of Madison.

The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Warren Central High School, where she was Miss Warren Central, homecoming queen, class president and cheerleader captain. She served as vice president of the National Honor Society and was a member of the National Art Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and varsity tennis team.

She attended Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and Sigma Theta Tau International.

Miss Shelton is a registered nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the University of Mississippi Medical

The prospective groom is a 2004 graduate of Vicksburg High School, where he was a member of the Key Club, Mu Alpha Theta and varsity football, baseball and soccer teams.

He attended Hinds Community College and Mississippi State University.

He served as president of Phi Theta Kappa and was a member of the HCC football team, MSU football team and MSU Rugby Club team.

Mr. Shelton is a teacher and football coach at Vicksburg High School.

The wedding will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 4, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Vicksburg. A reception will follow at the B’nai B’rith Literary Club.
