A Jackson woman arrested for felony shoplifting Thursday evening at Pemberton Square mall was being held in the Issaquena County Jail this morning on a $2,500 bond.

Loretta Garner, 50, 2812 N. West St., was spotted by a security guard at Dillard’s around 6:30, said Sgt. Sandra Williams. Along with having more than $500 worth of items on her at the time, a subsequent search of her vehicle turned up more stolen merchandise from the department store, Williams said. In total, Garner is accused of taking about $1,630 worth of items, Williams said.

“Apparently she had taken some merchandise from the store to her car and was going back for more,” Williams said.
