Betty James Williams died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. She was 80.

Ms. Williams was a graduate of Culkin Academy. For many years she cared for children in her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy James and Willie Ollie Johnson Williams; six brothers, Earl Williams, Vernon Williams, Percy Williams, Ernest Williams, Norman Williams and Frank Williams; and one sister, Lena Mae Williams Corbin.

Survivors include three nieces, Barbara Corbin Gray of Utica, Jeannie Corbin Dick of Vicksburg and Kathy Corbin of Madison; two sisters-in-law, Louise Corbin Williams and Annie Conrad Williams; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2 today at Green Acres Cemetery with Doris Leist officiating. Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
