Vicksburg has absolutely no chance of winning the Region 2-6A championship.

But the Gators will play a huge role in deciding who does.

The Gators (2-8, 2-4) travel to Clinton on Friday in the regular-season finale for both teams with pride on the line for Vicksburg and a lot more for Clinton.

A victory by Vicksburg would be the first throw of a monkey wrench into the gears of the region standings. A Clinton loss, coupled with a Northwest Rankin win vs. one-win Murrah and a loss by Madison Central to Greenville-Weston, would give the region championship to Northwest.
