Farewell to website

Published 12:00 am Tuesday, April 27, 2010

I was raised in Vicksburg but have not lived there for years.

Each day I go to the Post’s website to see what is going on in my old hometown. Imagine my surprise when I saw the notice scrolling across the top that as of May 3 I will have to pay for a website that I truly enjoy accessing.

I will miss not knowing what is going on now.  While I understand that newspapers must charge to compete with the Internet, I choose not to pay for my news at this time.

They said we would all have to eventually pay to use the web. I am just real surprised that The Vicksburg Post will be one of the first news outlets I use to do so.

So long friend.
