A third burglary suspect was charged in a string of smash-and-grab crimes in Vicksburg during last spring.
Clyde Wendell Mazie, 19, was arrested at 5:58 p.m. Wednesday at Sherman Avenue and North Washington Street and charged with seven counts of business burglary, Vicksburg Police Sgt. Sandra Williams said.
Mazie, 3505 N. Washington St., is accused of:
• Two break-ins, on March 21 and April 9, at Honeyz, Scentz & Fashionz, 3427 Halls Ferry Road
• One at Zips gas station, 887 U.S. 61 North, April 18;
• One at Chevron gas station, 581 Fisher Ferry Road, April 10;
• One at Jubilee Smoke Break, 4749 U.S. 61 South, April 20;
• One at Port Mart Texaco, 1775 N. Washington St., April 20;
• One at Dollar General, 4000 U.S. 61 South, April 20.
Previously charged after being returned to the city from Columbus, Ohio, were Mazie’s brother, Jeremy Mazie, 20, 902 Blossom Lane, on Nov. 9; Derrick Williams, 30, same address, on Dec. 1; and Tameka Gross, 30, 156 Elizabeth Circle, in April, who was accused of receiving stolen property. Jeremy Mazie was charged with four counts of business burglary, and Williams was charged with five.
Clyde Mazie, who had been considered a suspect with his brother and Williams, was picked up after police collected enough evidence to charge him, Williams said.
Clyde Mazie was at the Warren County Jail today without bond pending an initial appearance in court. Williams and Jeremy Mazie also remained in jail. Gross had been released on bond soon after her arrest.
Two held in Carthage already charged here
Two Vicksburg residents facing trial here next week were arrested Wednesday in Carthage on more drug charges.
Jonathan Wayne Jolly, 39, 162 Conway Drive, and Kathryn Michelle Tuggle, 27, 367 Rollingwood Drive, were arrested at Carthage Inn, according to a release from the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics. Both were charged with possession of precursors with intent to manufacture methamphetamine while in possession of a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were in the Leake County Jail awaiting initial court appearances.
Marshall Fisher, MBN director, said officers acted on a tip and found meth precursors including pseudoephedrine pills, fertilizer, lye, drain cleaner, lithium batteries, starter fluid, camp fuel and a .22-caliber rifle.
MBN, Leake County Sheriff’s Office and the Carthage Police Department participated in the investigation.
Both were scheduled for trial March 15 in Warren County Circuit Court on meth possession charges relating to arrests May 12, 2009. They had been indicted by Warren County grand jurors in November on charges of possessing precursor chemicals and a controlled substance.

Warren County records showed a camper was broken into at Skeeter Bite Hunting Club, along U.S. 61 North, at 2:43 p.m. Nothing was reported missing.

Two Vicksburg men indicted for child porn
Two Vicksburg men have been indicted on child sexual exploitation charges.
Bryan Neihaus, 21, 452 Tilton Ranch Road, and John Crumpler, 33, 2957 Mount Alban Road, were indicted separately this week by U.S. District Court in Jackson. They had been arrested last month.
The investigation began with a complaint, which led the FBI to search Crumpler’s home. The investigation extended to Neihaus’ personal computer, which revealed videos and images of child pornography including footage of both men with pre-teen children, authorities said. Neihaus had lived in Crumpler’s home for a period, an FBI affidavit said.
Neihaus’ court-appointed attorney had no comment. Crumpler’s court-appointed attorney didn’t respond to a message.
Both were being held without bond.
