Harper, Palmer are wed in New Orleans

Geoffrey Gillett Harper and Kathryn Anne Palmer were married Oct. 17, 2009, in the courtyard of the Maison Dupuy Hotel in New Orleans.

The bride is the daughter of Libby Hess of Littleton, Colo., and Frank Palmer of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of the late Theda and Fred Hess of Vicksburg and the late Mary and Buck Palmer of Jackson.

The groom is the son of Penny and Jon Harper of Milwaukee, Wis. He is the grandson of the late Dr. George N. and Alyce Gillett of Racine, Wis., and the late Collice and Margaret Harper of Milwaukee.

The bride was escorted by her father.

Maid of honor was Megan Harper, sister of the groom, of Milwaukee. Bridesmaids were JoAnna Merritt Johnson, cousin of the bride, of Charlotte, N.C.; Molley Bailey and Elizabeth Bailey, cousins of the bride, of Philadelphia, Miss.; Angie Coccaro Chronister of Daphne, Ala.; Jere’ Jabour of Vicksburg; Michelle Roche’ Anderson of Waveland; and Nicole Bowe Thrasher and Jennifer Gass, both of Denver.

Junior bridesmaid was Samantha Seawright, niece of the bride, of Woodland Park, Colo. Baby bridesmaid was Ayla Johnson of Charlotte, N.C.

Clayton Chase of Milwaukee served as best man. Groomsmen were John Grace and Wilson Seawright, brothers of the bride, and Patrick Thrasher, all of Denver; and Chris Rostad of Milwaukee.

Flower girl was Nicole Seawright, niece of the bride, of Woodland Park. Ring bearer was Wesley Seawright, nephew of the bride, of Woodland Park.

Guests were entertained by the Fleur de Lis band of New Orleans. A “second line” parade followed the reception with jazz music provided by the Algiers Brass Band of New Orleans.

For a wedding trip, the couple traveled on a Royal Caribbean Cruise to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta.

They will make their home in Denver, where the bride is a massage therapist and esthetician at Salon Tobie and the groom is a financial representative for Northwestern Mutual.

Reception

The groom’s parents hosted a wedding reception at the Milwaukee Athletic Club in Wisconsin, after the couple’s return from their honeymoon.

Bridesmaids’ luncheon

A bridesmaids’ luncheon was held at the Maison Dupuy Hotel on the morning of the wedding. Hostesses were Angie Coccaro Chronister, Janice Coccaro and aunts of the bride, Lottie Merritt and Kay Simms.

Rehearsal dinner

On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Crescent City Brewery.
