Three women held for drug forgery

Three Yazoo City women were arrested Monday for a prescription forgery at a Vicksburg drug store.

Sheila Kirklin, 22, 826 W. Second St.; Vanessa Jackson, 30, 740 Shady Drive, Apartment 13D; and Kisha Stuckey, 36, 409 Maynie Ave., were arrested at Battlefield Drugs, 3040 Suite A Indiana Ave., at 6:24 p.m. after trying to pass a prescription for Lorcet, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

“The pharmacist became suspicious and contacted the Yazoo City doctor who said he didn’t write the prescription,” said Stewart.

The women presented a prescription for 90 pills, he said.

All three were being held without bond at the Issaquena County Jail.

Nine auto burglaries reported in city, county

Nine auto burglaries were reported in the county and city Monday.

Guns were hot in six Warren County break-ins, records showed.

A .22-caliber automatic rifle valued at $350 and a 30-30 Marlin rifle valued at $400 were reported missing from a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado in the 500 block of Joyce Lane at 6:44 a.m.

At the same time and place, a bolt-action Remington 770 Winchester 300 valued at $650 and a pair of camouflage pants and jacket valued at $120 together were reported stolen from a 2010 Chevrolet pickup.

A .45-caliber Glock 21 handgun valued at $750, an H&R 45-70 government rifle valued at $300, a Tasco scope valued at $150 and about $800 in cash were reported stolen from a 2010 Ford Expedition in the 100 block of Jeffs Lane at 6:48 a.m.

A 12-gauge Remington 870 was reported stolen from a 1997 Ford F-150 and a .22-caliber handgun was missing from a 1997 Ford F-250 in the 5500 block of Fisher Ferry Road at 6:48 a.m.

A 7 mm Mark II rifle valued at $650, a Nikon scope valued at $650, a .380 semi-automatic handgun valued at $300 and a box of 7 mm rounds were reported stolen from a 2010 Chevrolet pickup in the 100 block of Ridgeview Acres Road at 3:58 p.m.

Guns, electronics and jewelry were among items reported missing in three Vicksburg break-ins, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

A Sportster satellite radio valued at $200 and a Ruger .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun valued at $450 were reported stolen from a 2006 Jeep Commander in the 1400 block of Wisteria Drive at 7:14 a.m.

A .45-caliber Glock semi-automatic handgun valued at $600, an iPod Touch valued at $200 and about $30 in change were reported stolen from a 2008 GMC Sierra in the 2100 block of South Frontage Road at 7:17 a.m.

A purse valued at $50, a two-karat silver ring with a blue stone valued at $3,000 and a pair of diamond earrings valued at $500 were reported stolen from a 2009 Mercedes 350 in the 2000 block of South Frontage Road at 7:07 p.m.
