Customer service can separate the men from the boys, and the Alcorn State University Southern Hospitality Academy is coming to Vicksburg to help drive that principle home.

“Most people already understand what customer service is, but this program reminds them of its importance,” said Ruth Nichols, who works with Alcorn’s Off Campus Development. “Sometimes, it can make the difference between success and failure in the hospitality business.”

A free seminar for players in the hospitality business will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. June 15 and 22 at Hinds Community College. The training aims to improve the time spent between employees and customers. In turn, organizers say, morale, pride, profits and approval increase.
