Fourth suspect arrested in Cherry Street burglary

A fourth suspect was arrested Monday in a residential burglary reported on April 1 in the 2500 block of Cherry Street.
At 2 p.m., Felix Williams, 20, 2808 Yerger St., was picked up by Vicksburg police after he had been arrested in Hinds County and authorities there found he had an outstanding warrant here, police Sgt. Sandra Williams said.
Felix Williams is accused of taking jewelry and electronics valued at nearly $500 from the home along with two teens and another man.
Also arrested were Thomas Wayne Dearman, 16, 400 Ashwood Drive, on April 2; Jonathan T. Grogan, 17, 1802 Vicklan St., about 30 minutes after the burglary; and Leon Blackmore III, 22, 225 Bowmar Ave., on April 4. Dearman was released on a $50,000 bond from the Warren County Jail, and Blackmore and Grogan remained there this morning on $10,000 bond each.
Williams was in the jail awaiting his first court appearance.
City teen jailed in theft of dog
A Vicksburg teen was in the Warren County Jail this morning charged with stealing a pit bull.
Shaquille Ricks, 17, 4824 Gibson Road, is accused of taking the dog on April 5 from a home in the 200 block of High Hill Drive, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.
The victim told deputies she saw the animal at a home in the 4900 block of Halls Ferry Road. When deputies found the dog at the reported address, the residents said a relative had been caring for the dog, Pace said.
Ricks surrendered to authorities at 4 p.m. Monday based on a warrant, Pace said. Ricks was released from the jail on a $2,500 bond.
Vicksburg woman held for drug court
A drug court violation landed a Vicksburg woman in the Warren County Jail, records showed.
Ashley Burrough, 21, 425 John Russell Drive, was being held without bond.
Burglaries reported at home, business
Residential and business burglaries were reported in Warren County, records showed.
At 1:50 this morning, six tires valued about $800, three game consoles valued at $750, a Garmin GPS valued at $160, three weapons valued at $775, two computers valued at $2,000, two televisions valued at $4,800, a wireless stereo valued at $500, a leather couch and love seat set and a brass 5-foot door chime valued at $500 were reported stolen from a home in the 3000 block of Old Highway 27.
About $30 in nickels and a gray tool box with part of a socket set valued at $50 were reported stolen from Warren Recycling on U.S. 80 at 8:25 a.m. Monday.
City woman injured in two-vehicle wreck
A Vicksburg woman was injured in a two-vehicle wreck Monday afternoon at Fisher Ferry Road and Drusilla Lane.
Darneicius Thomas, 20, 102 Elm Lane, was treated and released from River Region Medical Center, hospital spokesman Allen Karel said.
The wreck occurred as Thomas attempted to cross Fisher Ferry from Drusilla to a parking lot. A truck driven by a man Vicksburg Officer Ryan Williamson refused to identify hit Thomas’ Mazda CX7 on the passenger side.
The driver of the truck, a Dodge Dakota, was not injured.
