On-Target
junior golf
Zack Butler shot a single-round total of 86 on Tuesday to win his second straight 15-17-year-olds’ boys title in the On-Target Junior Golf series at Clear Creek Golf Course. Butler edged Aaron Jefferson by four stokes.
Caleb Myers beat Colton Miller in a chip-off to win the 11-14-year-olds’ boys title, while B.J. Crawford shot a 42 over six holes to win the 5-8-year-olds’ tournament and Mack Foley finished first in the 9-10-year-olds’ division.
Caroline Arthur won the 8-10-year-olds’ girls trophy and Beth Newman finished first in the 11-14-year-olds’ girls division.
The next tournament in the series is scheduled for July 6 at 9 a.m. at the Country Club of Canton. The next tournament in Warren County is set for Thursday6 at 9 a.m. at Vicksburg Country Club

St. Aloysius
Youth Football Camp
St. Aloysius will host a youth football camp for ages 6-11 on July 29 from 9-11 a.m. at Balzli Field. Cost of the camp is $40. The registration deadline is Thursday. After Thursday, registration is $50. Early registration ensures a camp t-shirt. Participants are to wear a t-shirt, shorts and tennis shoes or cleats. No spikes. Clear Creek Ladies
weekly golf report
On June 23 the Ladies of Clear Creek played a round at the Refuge Golf Course in Flowood. The winning team was Martha Masterson, Linda McHann and Sandy Russell. Masterson also made a chip-in.This Wednesday, the Ladies will hold their monthly business meeting at 8 a.m. followed by a scramble at Clear Creek Golf Course.

adult baseball
The Vicksburg Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registration for its adult baseball league through Wednesday. Registration forms can be picked up at the Parks and Rec offices on Army Navy Drive and this league is for players ages 18 and older. Cost is $175 per team with an additional charge of $5 per player for Warren County residents living outside the city limits and $10 for non-county residents. EMCC to host
baseball tryouts
East Mississippi Community College will hold baseball tryouts Wednesday at 3 p.m., at Gerald Poole Field on the Scooba campus. The tryouts are open to graduated high school seniors who have not been previously protected by any NJCAA member school. Participants are asked to bring their own equipment, including gloves, cleats, bats and helmets. Catchers are also asked to bring their own gear.
