The annual Riverfest was held this past weekend with great success. As I was reading the online articles about the event, I noticed an ad across the top of the page advertising Deltafest in Monroe.

It happened to be the same weekend as our own Riverfest. They had a longer festival and better-known entertainment than we did here.

Unless Riverfest can compete with the funding in Monroe, I think it might be something to consider trying to have the event on a different weekend than their Deltafest. I’ve known lots of people from Louisiana who came over to our festival here, but with one in Monroe, I’m sure they stayed closer to home. I’m sure there were people here who would have liked to see Tracy Laurence in Monroe, too. It would have been great not to have had to make a choice which one to go to.
