UTICA — Services for Vergie M. Mitchell will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Belmont M.B. Church in Utica with the Rev. Phillip Burks officiating. Burial will follow at Rohelia Cemetery in Utica. Visitation will be from noon until 6 Thursday at Robbins Funeral Home.

Survivors include five daughters, Liza Burns and Clara Mitchell of Vicksburg, Gladys Peterson of Clinton and Mary Mitchell and Jannie Tillman of Utica; five sons, Clifton Mitchell and Peryer Mitchell of Vicksburg, Jerry Mitchell of St. Paul, Minn., and David Mitchell and Willie Mitchell of Utica; one brother, Leon Casey of Vicksburg; one stepson, Henry Mitchell of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends including the Casey, Eatmon and Shears families.

Mrs. Mitchell died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 80.

She was a member of Belmont M.B. Church.
