Services for Mary Tillman Banks will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Locust Grove M.B. Church with the Rev. R.L. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Thursday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home. Family will be at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until the service.

Mrs. Banks died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. She was 98.

Born in Jefferson County, she lived in New York and Michigan before returning to Warren County in 1996. She worked as a housekeeper and was a Christian.

She was preceded in death by a son, Avance Banks Sr.; and a brother, Brooks Tillman.

She is survived by four sons, William Taft Banks Jr. of Vicksburg, Brooks Walter Banks of Sallis, Miss., Elisha Banks of Grand Island, N.Y., and Peter George Banks of Bossier City, La.; two daughters, Drucilla Banks Burns of Vicksburg and Darie R. Johnson of Detroit; 26 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
