Local Alfa agent receives top honor

A Vicksburg Alfa Insurance agent has received a top award.

Jerry Stuart was named the 2009 Top Distinguished Field Underwriter in Property and Commercial during the company’s annual awards ceremony last month in Birmingham, Ala.

Stuart has been with Alfa for 22 years. His office is at 1980 S. Frontage Road.

He is a member of the Mississippi Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Vicksburg Kiwanis Club, Vicksburg-Warren County Chamber of Commerce and Bovina Baptist Church, where he is music minister.

He and his wife, Shirley Sherman, have three children — Jeralyn, Sherman and Sydney.
