Emergency vehicles and workers inspect the damage this morning after an 18-wheeler carrying scrap metal flipped onto its side as the driver attempted to exit from U.S. 61 North to Interstate 20 East. The driver, whose name was not yet available, was taken to River Region Medical Center, where he was being treated at late morning. The wreck, reported to E-911 at about 9:45, cut eastbound traffic on the interstate to one lane and blocked the exit ramp from 61. Vicksburg Police Department Sgt. Jackie Johnson said both lanes of the interstate would be closed later for the debris to be cleared.
