Wayne W. Jamison

Wayne W. Jamison, age 65, died April 1, 2010, at his residence in Vicksburg.
He was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg and, for a number of years, he was director of athletics for the YMCA. He coached YMCA football and city league baseball.
He was the director of school services for the Vicksburg Warren School District and retired in 1998. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and an avid gardener. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Carol W. Jamison; four sons, Troy and wife Cydny Jamison, Paul Jamison, Dwayne and wife Carla Jamison and Breck and wife Delicia Jamison, all of Vicksburg; and five grandchildren, Colton Jamison, Claire Jamison, Joshua Jamison, Bailey McMillian and Kolby McMillian, all of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Green Acres Memorial Park. Dr. Matt Buckles will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the hour of the service.
Active pallbearers will be James Warren, Tom McLane, Wayne Hopkins, Johnny Jones, David Baldwin and Gene Allen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Ed Evans, Bobby Lowe, Bob Cochran, Jim Stirgus, Robert Pickett, Charles Craft, Pete Summers, Monty Baxley, Joe Bottino, Dr. Daniel Edney, Dr. Lon Alexander, Charles Hughes and Mr. Joe Jefferson.
