Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Howard McCoy of Vicksburg are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Elaine, to Brent Lamar Downs. Mr. Downs is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Alton Downs of West Monroe.

Miss McCoy is the granddaughter of Hattie K. Berch and the late Wilber H. Berch of McComb and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence E. McCoy of Ridgeland.

Mr. Downs is the grandson of Lois H. Antley and the late Alfred E. Antley and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alvin B. Downs Sr., all of West Monroe.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Porters Chapel Academy. She graduated magna cum laude from Northeast Louisiana University, where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting.

Miss McCoy received a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and is a senior accountant with CenturyLink.

The prospective groom is a graduate of West Monroe High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Louisiana Tech University.

Mr. Downs is self-employed with Downs Engineering.

Vows will be exchanged at 2 p.m. March 27, 2010, at White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ in West Monroe.
