A contract carrier for The Vicksburg Post was attacked and robbed early Sunday morning as he attempted to make his daily newspaper deliveries.
At 4:25 a.m., Bennie Holman, 29, 6335 Jeff Davis Road, told police about 10 men approached his delivery truck at Olive and Holly streets and demanded money from him, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said. When he did not give them money, they pulled him out of his truck, beat him and took $23.
Holman was treated and released from River Region Medical Center, hospital spokesman Allen Karel said.
