Two Vicksburg teens were in the Warren County Jail Saturday night accused of breaking into two cars in the county.
Warren County Sheriff’s deputies arrested John R. Johnson, 18, 375 Dudley Road, and Jeremy Bowlin, 17, 3400 U.S. 80 Lot 5, around 1 a.m. Saturday and charged them with two counts of auto burglary, Sheriff Martin Pace said.
Pace said the two are accused of breaking into a car in the 100 block of Turnberry Drive twenty minutes before they were arrested. No items were reported missing from that vehicle.
Pace said the Dodge pickup they were seen in by a witness was spotted and stopped by a deputy near the entrance of the Openwood Plantation on Oak Ridge Road. After the vehicle was stopped, the deputy spotted a Savage Arms .45/70-caliber rifle, which was found to be missing from a vehicle broken into earlier that evening in the 900 block of Newitt Vick Drive, Pace said.
Johnson and Bowlin also were charged with possession of a stolen gun.
Both were being held without bond.
