Warren County Circuit Judge M. James Chaney Jr. has completed the general jurisdiction course of the National Judicial College in Reno, Nev.
The course focused on ways to enhance judicial proficiency, competency and productivity.
Chaney, appointed to the judgeship June 3 by Gov. Haley Barbour, was required by the Mississippi Supreme Court to attend the course within one year of taking office.
Chaney was attorney for the Vicksburg Warren School District. He replaced Judge Frank Vollor, who left for private practice after 20 years on the bench.
