Seven sentenced in Warren, Sharkey

In Warren County Circuit Court for the week ending Friday:
• Larry Donnell Johnson, 22, 3207 Enochs St., Jackson, pleaded guilty to false pretense and was sentenced by Circuit Judge M. James Chaney to up to five years of probation supervised by the Mississippi Department of Corrections Restitution Center in Hinds, Jackson or Leflore county, plus a $1,500 fine, $10,208.58 in restitution and $322.50 in court costs. Johnson was arrested Aug. 31.
• Samuel Eugene Matthews, 20, 204 Kendra Drive, pleaded guilty to robbery and was sentenced by Chaney to two years in prison followed by three years of probation, plus a $1,000 fine, $275 in restitution and $322.50 in costs. Matthews was arrested Nov. 22, 2008.
• Cedric T. Piggs, 34, 2504 Halls Ferry Road, was found guilty of violating probation and sentenced by Chaney to the MDOC Restitution Center, plus $3,148.79 in restitution, fines and costs. Piggs was arrested May 25, 2004 for burglary and grand larceny.
• Maurice Lekeith Taylor, 24, 4808 Halls Ferry Road, pleaded guilty to burglary of a dwelling and grand larceny and was sentenced by Chaney to three years of probation, a $1,000 fine and $322.50 in costs. Taylor was arrested April 22, 2008.
• Arel Delancy Williams, 18, 2808 Yerger St., pleaded guilty to robbery and was sentenced by Chaney to two years in prison followed by three years of probation, plus a $1,000 fine, $275 in restitution and $322.50 in costs. Williams was arrested Nov. 22, 2008.
In Sharkey County for the week ending Friday:
• Silas Manseill, 31, 4529 Spanish Fort Road, Holly Bluff, pleaded guilty to possession of precursors and was sentenced by Chaney to the Ninth Circuit Drug Court Program for a period not to exceed five years, plus a $1,500 fine and $822.50 in costs. Manseill was arrested April 10.
• Robert Watts, 20, 185 Worthing St., Rolling Fork, pleaded guilty to burglary of a vehicle and was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge Isadore Patrick to the MDOC Restitution Center in Hinds or Jackson county followed by five years of probation, plus a $1,000 fine and $322.50 in costs. Watts was arrested Jan. 21.
