Why isolate Ole Miss?

As the daughter of two graduates of the University of Mississippi, as a proud graduate of the University of Mississippi and as the mother of two graduates of the University of Mississippi, I find it interesting and a bit odd that in the article in The Vicksburg Post on Feb. 23 concerning the voting of the students at Ole Miss about the change of our mascot, the article ended by stating: “Other vestiges of the Old South can also be found on campus. The Mississippi State flag, with its Confederate battle emblem, is still flown.”

I am curious. Is the University of Mississippi the only place in the entire state of Mississippi where the Mississippi State flag is flown? I didn’t think so. I find it “strange” and extremely sad that once again Ole Miss is unfairly “targeted” as a place of racism, even for flying the state flag of Mississippi, as if its alone in this practice.
