Mary M. Markle

Mary M. “Peg” Markle died Saturday Aug. 7, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. She was 90.
Mrs. Markle was a native of Acme, Penn. She and her late husband, George C., had been residents of Vicksburg since 1978 after relocating here from Yuma, Ariz. Both were natives of Pennsylvania and had moved to the desert Southwest in 1961. She retired from Howards in 1985. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret Freeman; and a sister, Mae Delligatti.
Survivors include a son, Dennis G. Markle and wife Donna of Vicksburg; a brother, William Freeman of Dillsbury, Pa.; three sisters, Helen Shaw of Acme, Pa., Karen Mowry of Acme, Pa., and Louise Keslar of Indian Head, Pa.; and two grandchildren, Russell R. Markle and wife Julie and Dustin L. Markle and wife Mary, all of Jackson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Matt Buckles officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial may be made to Renewal By Faith, First Baptist Church, 1607 Cherry Street.
Pallbearers will be Calvin Pugh, Randy Oswalt, Jimmy Harper, David Haworth, Bill Tomlinson and Dwyte Evans.
Honorary pallbearers will be First Baptist Homebound Ministry Team: Kathie Taylor, Jackie Arnold, Patty Sullender, Jean Stuckey, Eleanor Moss, Janice Partridge, Sarah Pilgrim, Shirley Brown and Sandra Peters.
