Authorities have gathered no clues as to the whereabouts of a 31-year-old Warren County man in the nearly two weeks since his family reported him missing, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said Monday.

“We have pursued every lead that we’ve been given and we’ve interviewed a number of people, but we have not found anyone who has seen him or spoken to him since the night of (May) 23rd,” said Pace.

Jason Allen Ashley and his 6-year-old child were living with family members in the Floweree community in north Warren County, near the Issaquena County line, at the time of his disappearance. The child remains with Ashley’s parents, said Pace.

“Although we have not recovered any physical evidence of foul play, we are very concerned about his safety and well-being at this point,” Pace said.

Ashley was last seen leaving Pig Willie’s restaurant and bar on U.S. 61 North near the North Washington Street intersection and his family reported him missing four days later. He was driving a gray 2000 Jeep Cherokee with a temporary, paper license tag in the rear window.

Ashley left medication, a cell phone charger and his clothes at his home. “He was not in any distress when he left (Pig Willie’s), and just moments before he’d actually called his mother and said he’d be home soon,” said Pace.

Pace said Ashley was to return to work on a river tow company on June 5, but did not show up. He has also missed a doctor’s appointment and has not tried to contact his child.

“That’s very unusual for him,” said Pace. “His family said even when he was on the river for 30 days at a time he would call home at least every other evening.”

Information on Ashley and the vehicle he was last seen driving have been entered into the National Crime Information Center, said Pace.
