Kenneth Warren Kelley died Sunday, May 9, 2010. He was 79.

Born in Quinton, Okla., Mr. Kelley was the son of the late Jody Divola Kelley and Johnnie Jewell Averett Kelley. A former resident of Antioch, Calif., and St. Joseph, La., he had been a resident of Vicksburg since 2006.

Mr. Kelley retired from U.S. Steel as a roller in 1985 with 30 years of service. He was a member of the Elks for the past 30 years.

Mr. Kelley enjoyed his hobbies of race-car driving, hunting and fishing with great enthusiasm. He was a member of the United Methodist faith and, at the time of his death, was a member of Gibson Memorial United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Claire Kelley; two daughters, Linda Renfroe and her husband, Mike, and Joy Renfro-Kiser and her husband, Johnny, all of Vicksburg; four grandsons, Joshua Brogdon, Jesse Brogdon and his wife, Haley, Jeremy Brogdon and Joe Renfroe; one great-grandson, Haden Brogdon; nephew, Danny Kelley; and one great-niece, Katie Smith.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by a brother, Jay Kelley; and two nephews, Terry Kelley and Kenny Kelley.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Jonathan King officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Brogdon, Jesse Brogdon, Jeremy Brogdon, Joe Renfroe, Mike Renfroe and Johnny Kiser.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chester Puckett, Marvin Anderson, John O’Bannon, Mark Pait and Kee Dobson.
