Mary R. Pritchett died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. She was 82.

Mrs. Pritchett had lived in Vicksburg for over 50 years. She was owner and operator of Dura Carpets for many years. She was a member of Bowmar Baptist Church and Eastern Star Acacia Chapter 56.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Pritchett; a daughter, Sandra Kay Pritchett; a sister, Edna Earl Reed; and a brother, Jessie T. Ricks.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Louise Wallace of Mendenhall, Miss., and Beverly Lynn Davis of Vicksburg; five brothers, Samuel R. Ricks of Security, Colo., George W. Ricks of Greenwood, Willie D. Ricks of Yazoo City, Therman D. Ricks of Colonilia Heights, Va. and Herman L. Ricks of Vicksburg; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry White officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at noon Monday at the funeral home until the service.

Pallbearers will be Tony Wallace, Mark Wallace, Jimmy Wallace, Gerald Davis Jr., Bill Ricks and Jimmy Brooks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Drs. Hildon Sessums, Murray Whitaker, Lee Giffin, Charles Marascalco, the staff of Gilbert’s Home Health, ICU staff at River Region Medical Center, Michael Davis and members of Eastern Star.
