Sylvester Pendleton Sr. died Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. He was 66.

Mr. Pendleton was self-employed as a small-engine repairman. He was a member of New Zion M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Joseph Jr. and Ella Mae Porter-Pendleton.

Survivors include his son, Sylvester Pendleton Jr. of Flint, Mich.; three daughters, Jarlyn Noel of Vicksburg, Renee Collins of Edwards and Darlene Pendleton-Thomas of Riverside, Calif.; two brothers, Charles Pendleton of Russelville, Ark., and Riley Pendleton of Vicksburg; a sister, Mary Gardner of Aurora, Ill.; and grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends, including Mary Jackson.
