OCEAN SPRINGS — The Rev. Dr. Jesse Lee Trotter Sr. died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010, in Ocean Springs. He was 85.

The Rev. Trotter was pastor of Macedonia M.B. Church of Ocean Springs and moderator emeritus of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist District Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Senora Lucille Williams Trotter; a son, Leroy C. Trotter; a daughter, Patricia A. Trotter; his parents, Elijah Trotter Sr. and Arcola Trotter Brown; his stepfather, Obbie Brown; two brothers, Obbie James “O.J.” Brown and Elijah “Buddy” Trotter; and one sister, Leola Bolton.

He is survived by three sons, Jesse L. Trotter Jr. of Vicksburg, Dr. Melvin M. Trotter of Baton Rouge and Dr. Marvin M. Trotter of Prairieville, La.; three daughters, Barbara L. Trotter Idlette of Lithonia, Ga., Valeria D. Trotter Lomax of Ocean Springs and Jacquelyn E. Trotter Thomas of Covington, Ga.; and 11 grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Macedonia M.B. Church with the Rev. Eric Dickey officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Biloxi. Visitation will be at the church from noon until 6 p.m. Wednesday with family present at 6 and a wake service to follow from 6 until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. Thursday until the service.
