The president of the Public Relations Association of Mississippi will speak Thursday at the River City chapter’s monthly meeting.

Caron Blanton is the Mississippi Department of Education’s bureau manager for Legislative Services. She has served in that role since 2003. Before that, she worked with the Mississippi Press Association and Holmes Community College.

Blanton has a bachelor’s degree from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Va., and a master’s from the University of Mississippi.
