Harris, Harper are married Oct. 2

Roy Chester Harris III and Amber Renee Harper were married at 1 p.m. Oct. 2, 2010, at Vicksburg City Auditorium. Elder Leon Edwards officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Felicia Stafford of Hattiesburg and Cleveland and Belinda Harper of Navarre, Fla. She is the granddaughter of Willie D. Harper of Vicksburg, Dorothy Harper and the late Cleveland Harper of Utica, Mary Duckworth-Stafford and the late Jessie Stafford of Hattiesburg and the late Fred Duckworth.
The groom is the son of Roy and Marilyn Harris of Clarksdale. He is the grandson of Leon and Inez Edwards of Clarksdale and the late Freddie Edwards, Roy Harris Sr. of Greenwood and Minnie Harris of Memphis.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride’s chosen colors were pool, silver and white. Music was presented by Victor Gilliam. Soloists were Kevin Winter and Linda K. Powell.
Maid of honor was Brittany Sutton. Bridesmaids were Courtney Carson, Shardae Goldsmith, Lakeda Harris, April McDonald, Verinda McGee, Danielle Moore, Alexis Smith and Nikki Wilkes.
Jamal Young served as best man. Groomsmen were John Adams, Gerald Brown, Ryan Gipson, Darrell Harris, Deandre Harris and Alanddis James.
Usher was Cedric Harper.
Flower girls were Kayla Pittman and Kennadi Williams. Ring bearer was Nasir Sutton. Bible carrier was Kamarion Harris.
Miniature bride was Harmony Harris; miniature groom was Kaleb Stafford.
Announcing the bride was Kambren Drummer.
Special wedding assistants were Pamela Durman, Willie Walker, Shirley Harris and Artis Williams.
A reception followed the ceremony. Hostesses were Kathy Edwards and Erika Shaw.
Special reception assistants were Georgia Hicks, Shirley Pettway and Mary Carson.
Guests were entertained with music by DJ Stan Trevillion.
The couple will make their home in Port Gibson. The bride is employed at McDonald’s, and the groom is employed at DiamondJacks.

The groom’s mother hosted a miscellaneous shower in Clarksdale.
Danielle Moore and Verinda McGee honored the bride with a lingerie shower at Pecan Ridge Recreation Room.
