Santa breakfast a joy

Published 11:56 pm Friday, December 10, 2010

The 2010 Breakfast with Santa at the Vicksburg Convention Center provided hundreds of people a quality holiday experience. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House, a “home away from home” for families with seriously ill children.

I would like to thank our sponsors. This event would not have been possible without their generosity.

We were very fortunate to have so many volunteer students who did everything from taking up tickets and clearing tables to assisting the children with cookie decorating and arts and crafts. We couldn’t have done it without them!

I would also like to thank Dan and Pauline Cook for going door to door collecting door prizes and to those businesses that contributed. A very special thanks to Gary Haygood, who has volunteered year after year to take the pictures with Santa.

Last, but certainly not least, a big thanks to Santa and Mrs. Claus for coming to Vicksburg during their busiest time of the year. They provided lots of joy to the hundreds of boys and girls who attended this annual event.
