Eleuterio Pedro Medrano, a grout specialist with Schnaubel Foundation Company, fills holes with concrete while fellow crew members drill more holes at Mint Springs Bluff at the Vicksburg National Cemetery. The work Friday marks the start of a $2.28 million project that aims to stabilize the bluff and prevent future erosion being caused by the Mississippi River. Cars and trucks are barred from the cemetery during the project, which is to be finished by March.
