A Bovina man and a Jackson man were arrested Saturday for shoplifting at a local department store.

Max Armstrong, 32, of Country Club Road in Bovina, and Derrick Witherspoon, 34, Jackson, were arrested around 4 p.m. on Interstate 20 east near the Clay Street exit after fleeing from Dillard’s at Pemberton Square mall, where store employees said the men took 41 Ralph Lauren polo shirts valued at $3,375, Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

The shirts were recovered in a black plastic bag in the suspects’ car at the time of their arrests, Stewart said.
