Maria Culley

PORT GIBSON — Maria Culley died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at Promise Hospital in Port Gibson. She was 87.

Mrs. Culley was born in Salzburg, Austria, where she met and married her husband who was in the U.S. Army stationed at Salzburg. She made her home in Claiborne County since 1953 and became a United States citizen in 1985. She was employed by the American Paper Tube Company for over 20 years. She was of the Catholic faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Culley; a grandson, Lambert D. Culley.

Survivors include a son, George L.W. Culley and wife, Valynda of Port Gibson; a sister, Berta Schmidleitner of Salzburg; and a grandson, Brian W. Culley of Port Gibson.

Graveside services will be Saturday at noon at Wintergreen Cemetery in Port Gibson with Glenwood Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the service.

Pallbearers will be Marik Anderson, Bob Carpenter, Mike Mikell, Tony Bufkin, Roy Mathes and Jack Bufkin Jr.
