Bell, Bryant are married March 13

Michael Cleveland “Bucky” Bell Jr. and Catherine Grace Bryant were married at 4 p.m. March 13, 2010, at Woodlawn Baptist Church. The Rev. James Young of Sallis, uncle of the bride, officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Cecil and Carolyn Bryant of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Percy DeWitt Young of Thomastown, Miss., and Wilma Tadlock Bryant and the late Albert Edward Bryant of Kosciusko.

The groom is the son of Mike and Brenda Bell of Starkville. He is the grandson of the late Lorita Parris Tumey of Eupora and the late Mr. and Mrs. Willard Cleveland Bell of Starkville.

Classic and traditional selections were performed by Shelia Hess, organist. Vocalists were Ginger Bryant Bennett, Alan Dutro and Janet Dutro and were accompanied by Rhonda Lyle, pianist.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.

Maid of honor was Holly Nicole Ray of Birmingham, Ala. Bridesmaids were Leslie Nicole Bell of Nashville, Tenn.; Liza Leak Bryant of The Woodlands, Texas; Lauren Burns Jackson of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; Julia Rebecca Bryant of Oxford; Robin Bryant Pee of Sallis; and Kimberly Ann Dowe and Susan Whittenberg, both of Vicksburg.

The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Wesley Mann Black of Ridgeland; Clinton Dewitt Bryant of The Woodlands; Bartley Treywick Harris of Tupelo; William Higdon King of Homewood, Ala.; Mitchell Carter Stroud of San Diego, Calif.; and William Sidney Prosser and James Kyle Skinner, both of Starkville. Junior groomsman was Collins Edward Bryant of The Woodlands.

Ushers were James Caleb Dismuke of Flowood, Joshua Kyle Duett of Birmingham and Christopher Dean Strobel of Jackson.

Flower girl was Evelyn Catherine Bryant of The Woodlands. Ring bearer was Miles Clinton Bryant, also of The Woodlands.

Scripture readers were Cindy Green McNair of Tupelo and Gloria Echols of Louisville.

Greeters were Kaylis Byrns of Little Rock, Ark., and Parris Wallace of Canton.

Serving as program attendants were Asha Meilstrup of Brookhaven and Rayna Whitmire of Raymond. Jennifer Collier of Lucedale served as the bride’s proxy.

Special wedding assistant was Carrie Bryant Browning of Kosciusko, assisted by Diana Wolfe of Vicksburg.

A reception followed at the Hotel Vicksburg. Guests were entertained with music by Legal Tender.

For a wedding trip, the couple traveled on a Caribbean cruise to Mexico, Belize and Guatemala. They will make their home in Oxford.

Rehearsal dinner

On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner for the couple, wedding party, family and out-of-town guests at Jacques’ Cafe. Guests were treated to a slideshow presentation created by the groom.

Bridesmaids’ luncheon

Mable Ellison, Jean Foster, Frances Kennedy, Betty Whitmire, Guinevere Young and Joan Young hosted a bridesmaids’ luncheon the day before the wedding.

Tea

Louise Derrington, Fredda Hobgood and Joan Sanders honored the bride with a miscellaneous shower and tea at the Hobgood home in Vicksburg.

Engagement celebration

Wilma Bryant, Dr. and Mrs. Edward Bryant, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bryant, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Bryant, Ted Bryant and Bryant cousins honored the couple with an engagement party in Vicksburg.

Showers

Lauren Jackson and Holly Ray hosted a lingerie shower and bachelorette weekend in Birmingham.

Groomsmen and close friends honored the groom with a bachelor weekend in New Orleans.

Kim Dowe and Susan Whittenberg hosted a Christmas shower in Vicksburg.

The bride was honored with a miscellaneous shower and brunch at Woodlawn Baptist Church. Hostesses were Debbie Beach, Linda Bryant, Theresa Bryant, Gail Campbell, Cris Chamblee, Regina Davis, Roxanne Dowe, Angela Jordan, Jan Little, Michele McMahon, April Rost, Ann Rutland, Kay Smith, Bo Whittenberg and Diana Wolfe
