Raymond C. Moore Sr.

Raymond C. Moore Sr. died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at his home. He was 63.
Mr. Moore was born in Eden, Miss., and had lived in the Utica and Vicksburg areas for the past 31 years.
He retired as a butcher, having owned and operated Moore’s Deer Processing. He was a member of Utica Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Beatrice Moore; a sister, Loretta Evans; and three brothers, L.J. Wooten, Earl Lewis and Mickey Moore.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Elaine Moore of Vicksburg; one son, Raymond C. Moore Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Vicksburg; one daughter, Shannon E. Smitherman and her husband, William, of Jackson; two brothers, Robert W. Moore of Vicksburg and Lamar Wooten of Arkansas; two sisters, Rethia Palmer of Vicksburg and LaWanda Beard of Little Rock, Ark.; and seven grandchildren, Amber Smitherman, Matthew Winstead, Ashley Moore, Will Smitherman, Zachary Moore, Savannah Moore and Logan Moore.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Billy Brumfield and Jason Wooley officiating. Burial will follow at Wayside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight and Saturday from noon until the service.
Pallbearers will be Mark Luke, Kenneth Luke, Brian Luke, Tony Wooten, Gerald David Palmer, Linda Kennibrew, Jerry Tatum, Ken Kennibrew, Justin Wooten, Ray Logan, Jeff Jenkins and Joseph Wooten.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ruble Gray, Billy Gray, Jack Gray, John Beard, Truman Logan, Cecil Gray, Dwight Gillis, Steve Beard, Jason Moore and Mickey Moore.
