Albert Buchanan died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. He was 85.

A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Buchanan was a member of Mount Olive No. 2 Baptist Church. He served in the Army in World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Bu-chanan and Rosie Williams; and two sisters, Lula Gross and Rosie Lee Buchanan.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lee Buchanan of Vicksburg; two sons, Sherman Buchanan of Portland, Ore., and Ronnie Buchanan of Vicksburg; two daughters, Gladys Buchanan Crawford of Lebanon, Tenn., and Sylvia Buchanan Foster of Vicksburg; a sister, Mary Lee Moore of Vicksburg; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
