12 take home awards in district horse contest

Warren County 4-H members competed in the Southwest District Horse Show, and brought home awards.

• Wes Bryan — Second place in registered paint, 4-year and older mares; third in grade western over 52 inches, 4-year and older mares.

• Cameron Hall — Second in pole bending over 52 inches, 14-15 Senior; third in barrels over 52 inches, 14-15 Senior.

• Shelton Headley — First in pole bending over 52 inches, 16-18 Senior; first in barrels over 52 inches, 16-18 Senior; third in breakaway roping.

• Elizabeth Holloway — First in pole bending over 52 inches, 14-15 Senior; second in barrels over 52 inches, 14-15 Senior; second in stake over 52 inches, 14-15 Senior.

• Christin Koestler — Third in pole bending over 52 inches, 16-18 Senior; third in stakes over 52 inches, 16-18 Senior; third in registered paint, 4-year and older mares.

• Laken Koestler — High Point Junior Exhibitor; first in pole bending 48 inches and under, 8-13 Junior; first in pole bending over 48-52 inches, 8-13 Junior; first in barrels pony 48 inches and under, 8-13 Junior; first in stake race pony 48 inches and under, 8-13 Junior; first in stake race over 52 inches, 12-13; first in grade western over 52 inches, brood mares; first in registered paint, 4-year and older mares; second in barrel pony over 48-52 inches, 8-13 Junior; second in stake race pony over 48-52 inches, 8-13 Junior; third in pony mares over 48-52 inches, 8-13 Junior; third in pony geldings 48 inches and under, 8-13 Junior.

• William Martin — Second in pole bending over 52 inches, 12-13 Junior.

• Sara Kate McDaniel — High Point Hunter Division; first in hunter under saddle; first place in hunt seat equitation; first in western pleasure; third in western horsemanship.

• Kim Presson — First in special needs walk/trot horsemanship; second in special needs walk/trot trail.

• Kaylo Truesdell — Third in pole bending over 52 inches, 14-15 Senior; third in stake over 52 inches, 14-15 Senior.

• John Whitehead — High Point Saddle and Gaited Division; first in saddle and gaited mare; first in saddle and gaited showmanship, 14-18; first in saddle horse pleasure; first in racking horse.

• Leland Whitehead — First in special needs walk/trot trail; second in special needs walk/trot horsemanship.

Also participating were Jessica Bateman, Whitney Brock, Haley Burrough, Tessa Jordan, Beth Martin, Polly McGee, MacKenzie Milburn, Sara Sims, Eden Smith and Sarah Kate Smith.
