Johnny Lee McKay

Services for Johnny Lee “Baby Ray” McKay will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Greater Mount Zion M.B. Church with the Rev. Gregory Butler officiating. Burial, under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home, will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church Thursday from noon until the service.

Mr. McKay died Thursday, May 27, 2010, at his home in Washington, D.C. He was 77.

Born in Vicksburg, he retired from the District of Columbia government as a collections agent. He was a graduate of Magnolia High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Jackson State College.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter James McKay, Howard Thomas McKay and Edward Thomas McKay; and one sister, Beatrice Jackson.

Survivors include one brother, Rufus McKay Sr. of Vicksburg; two sisters, Elizabeth Harper of Vicksburg and Mary Louise McKay of Bridgeport, Conn.; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
