Edward L. West

EL DORADO, Ark. — Edward L. West, formerly of Vicksburg, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado. He was 64.

Mr. West was born in Tupelo to Isaac and Vera West. He was a 30-year employee of West Painting.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Edward Randell West; three brothers, Raymond West, Arthur B. West and Bill West; and a grandson, Michael Ponder.

Survivors include a son, Edward L. West Jr. of El Dorado; three daughters, Shelia Goode of Louann, Ark., Renee Crews of El Dorado and Jamie Schrimpshire of Quitman, Miss.; two brothers, Jim West of Nebraska and Floyd West of Alabama; and two sisters, Elizabeth Myrick of Philadelphia, Miss., and Bertha Thompson of Alabama.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.
