The Vicksburg Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary wishes to thank Crawford Street United Methodist Church for hosting our 31st annual Soup & Sandwich Lunch, Silent Auction and Bake Sale.
The event was a tremendous success, breaking previous records with more than 800 tickets sold.
We would like to thank all Auxiliary members, with a very special thanks to Tina Grau, auction chairman, and her committee. To all students, thank you so much for your eagerness, time and energy to stir soup, make sandwiches, run errands, etc. A very special thank you is extended to the Salvation Army advisory board members and those who were “celebrity servers.”
Thank you, McDonald’s, for donating tea; Sonic, for donating ice and cups; and Bowmar and First Baptist churches, for the use of your kitchens. To the many volunteers to numerous to mention, words cannot adequately express our appreciation.
Everyone working together in God’s name was an awesome sight. We are grateful to serve in a community where people are willing to donate time and money to help achieve the Salvation Army’s goal of providing basic services to those in need.
