Leola L. Freeman

PORT GIBSON — Mrs. Leola L. Freeman died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson surrounded by her loving family. She was 74. Born in St. Amant, La., she was the daughter of the late Robert Lessard and Lillie Rodriguez Lessard.

Mrs. Freeman was a former longtime resident of Gonzales, La., and had been a resident of Claiborne County for the past 10 years. She was a member of Stepping Stone Baptist Church of Port Gibson.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Freeman Jr. of Port Gibson; one daughter, Elizabeth Fontenot Howe of Gonzales; three sons, Marvin Fontenot, Melvin Fontenot and Glen Fontenot, all of Gonzales; two brothers; one sister; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter and two sons.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Cornerview Cemetery in Gonzales with the Rev. Keith Garland, pastor of the Stepping Stone Baptist Church of Port Gibson, officiating. Riles Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
