Services for James Lieutenant “Goodrocking” Allen Sr. will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Allen died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at Covenant Health & Rehab of Vicksburg. He was 81.

He was a veteran of the Army and served in World War II. He was a member of St. James M.B. Church. He retired as a truck driver, having worked for Mayflower Moving Co., Mercury Marine and North American Freight Lines. He was past manager for the Vicksburg Raiders softball team and Total Experience band.
