ROLLING FORK — Marguerite N. McMahon died June 19, 2010, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. She was 100.
Mrs. McMahon had been a resident of Rolling Fork since 1930. She was a retired postmistress for the U.S. Postal Service in Grace, Miss., and a bookkeeper for Ali Dah Plantations. She was a member of the Rolling Fork United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas McMahon; a daughter, Evelyn M. Couturie; and a granddaughter, Michelle C. Betz.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Denise Peters and husband Jim of Broomfield, Colo., and Suzanne Chaix and husband Kenny Jr. and Thomas Couturie and wife, Andrea, all of New Orleans; six great-grandchildren, Mac Peters, Sophia Peters, Cherie Chaix, Kenny Chaix III, Carly Skinner and Cassidy Betz; one great-great-grandson, Kamden Skinner.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rolling Fork United Methodist Church with the Rev. Beth Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery in Rolling Fork. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home and Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Chaix Jr., Kenny Chaix III, Jim Peters, Thomas Couturie, Robert Martin, Thomas McMahon, Matt McMahon and Wayne Tenhet.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry McMahon, Frank Corban, Dr. Danny Jackson and Dr. Michael Baker.
