Two sentenced in circuit court

Reported in Warren County Circuit Court for the week ending Friday:

• Matthew Jared Duke, 27, 7944 Jeff Davis Road, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced by Judge Isadore Patrick to the Ninth Circuit Court Drug Court Program for a period not to exceed five years, plus a $1,000 fine, $375 in restitution, $675 in Drug Court fees and $622.50 in court costs. Duke was arrested April 1.

• Denise Lashay Kemper, 28, 2907 Washington St., Apt. 1, was found guilty of violating probation and sentenced by Patrick to the Mississippi Department of Corrections Restitution Center at Flowood to pay $1,822.50 in fines, fees and restitution, followed by probation according to the original sentencing order (unspecified). Kemper was arrested Aug. 6, 2008, for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
