Local law student making strides

A Vicksburg man has received recognition in his pursuit of a law degree.

Elliott Flaggs has been invited to the Mississippi Law Journal at Ole Miss and the Dean’s Leadership Council. He also has been elected a second-year senator within the Ole Miss law school’s student body.

Criteria to join the journal include a 3.2 GPA and the ability to demonstrate skill through case briefings and notes. Dean’s Leadership Council’s duties include orientation for new law students.

Flaggs will enter his second year in law school in the fall, and is working in a summer clerkship position at Watkins, Ludlam, Winter & Stennis of Jackson. He has a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Mississippi State University.

Flaggs, a 2003 graduate of Vicksburg High, is the son of Rep. George and Linda Flaggs.
