An Anguilla woman was in fair condition at University Mississippi Medical Center today after being injured in a two-vehicle wreck that killed a Swiss man and woman.
At about 1:30 Monday morning, Tobias Keller, 39, of Zurich, apparently fell asleep while driving south on U.S. 61 and hit a pickup driven by Portia Tankson, Sharkey County Coroner Angelia Eason said. The wreck occurred on U.S. 61 north of Anguilla.
“He ran off the highway. When he jerked the car, he ran into the other driver,” Eason said.
The vehicles collided on the passenger side of the car pushing Sabina Collusia, 37, also of Zurich, into the back seat, Eason said.
Keller and Collusia died on impact, Eason said.
Tankson, a recent high school graduate, was treated at the Jackson hospital for a broken leg, Sharkey County Sheriff Lindsey Adams said.
Collusia’s brother, Fabio Collusia, told Eason that the two were heading to New Orleans from Memphis before going to Atlanta to visit Collusia’s brother for the weekend, she said.
